Kato Similar Labels
Kato Introduction
Kato is our digital record store assistant. Kato understands music taste and picks out the most relevant music from the promos that DJs have received on the FATdrop platform. Kato can provide more visibility and engagement for your promos, and more relevant recipient engagement.
How To Use Similar Labels
Here are some tips on how to improve the performance of your campaigns with Kato:
Setting Similar Labels
When creating a campaign, the release info and similar labels help Kato figure out exactly what kind of music the release is and what audience will like it. Filling out these fields can help Kato get your promo to the most relevant ears.
Adding Similar Labels is particularly important if the release is on a brand new or lesser-known label. Without the similar labels Kato won't know what kind of music the release is.
Note: you don't have to pick 3 similar labels. If only one or two come to mind, then just add one or two. In fact the whole Similar Labels section is optional.
Sender Reputation
Note that Kato has built-in features to stop abuse/spam. This includes a sender reputation system, designed to ensure good usa of the system. As always, we encourage targeted sending and not spamming recipients. For more info, get in touch.
How Kato Works
Kato is trained on numerous linked "semantic data" which associate record labels and cluster them together into "scenes". This is based on multiple sources, including 15 years of FATdrop usage by the world's top PR companies, record labels and DJs. Kato then further refines picks using performance and reputation algorithms. These are designed to promote hot releases, filter out bad picks and stop spam. The algorithms will improve and become smarter over time, as we add further layers of complexity.
